Claire’s Day – Maumee

Saturday, May 19, 2017
Maumee Branch Library, 501 River Rd., Maumee, OH 43537

Claire’s Day is the Celebration of Life, Authors, Illustrators and Reading Excellence.

Held annually for the past 16 years in Maumee, Ohio in memory of Claire Lynsey Rubini this Book Festival is Northwest Ohio’s largest celebration of literacy!

We are happy to be hosting the event in three locations, including our return to Claire’s Library, the Maumee Branch Library. A local committee is preparing for this day to be a very special FREE FAMILY Book Festival with something special for everyone. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us and bring the entire family!

Claire’s parents, Brad & Julie Rubini will be in attendance as we welcome all of our guests that day.

Guests will:
**Meet prolific and award winning authors & Illustrators who will be available for presentations, autographs and photos.

**Join us for the C.A.R.E. Awards, recognizing children who are nominated by their teachers for increasing their reading skills!

** Special appearance by our friends from Laurel Princess Parties. We are hoping for Superman too! So watch our pages often.

** Claire’s Writing Tent: An area to meet junior high and high school students who have written, edited and published a journal of their own writings. Under the direction of Matt Russell, these teens are amazing!

**Creation Station! Hands-on children’s activities including special appearances by characters in costume, craft areas, story telling, electric cars and even a little science magic! Thanks to a generous grant this area continues to grow each year. (Visit our website to download last years activity pages–great for classroom use too!)

Food, books, t-shirts and other literacy items will be available for purchase.
